Animal Ordering

Mice and rats can be ordered from Charles River Labs.

Place order by FAX before 5pm on Monday for delivery the next week. We can receive deliveries from the Raleigh facility same day on Monday through Thursday.

Get the animal ordering form from the “WestLab forms” file on the LaCie disk (connect to the server at afp://neuro-west-02.duhs.duke.edu/ - login as billrinehart pswd: piano, choose “LaCie disk”).

Fill in all critical info.

All wt animals come to Bryan Research room 7

Transgenics go to GSRBII 2025

For outbred rats we get the CD IGS strain (Sprague Dawley – $78.45 mom with litter, $73.10 timed pregnant)

For outbred mice we get the CD1 strain ($44.95 mom with litter, $26.25 timed preg)

Make sure to follow the attached calendar so you know which animals you can get on which days! We pay much more for weekend breeds (an extra $65 - $130!)

FAX the completed animal request to 684-8578. Save the completed form in the animals file in the filing cabinet by the lab manager’s desk.
